Open position in True Media Columbia, MO office; Hybrid work schedule: in office/remote.

The Associate Accountant is responsible for the duties related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing of a specified billing portfolio. They work in conjunction with other personnel to handle database management, vendor maintenance, and auditing tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

• Oversee principle duties related to timely and accurate accounts payable, accounts receivable and invoicing of specified portfolio. Enter client cash receipts as needed.
• Run auditing reconciliation report monthly and communicate with auditors and media staff.
• Ensure that any missing vendor invoices are requested and entered and that orders are reconciled with billings.
• Work with media staff and create billing/invoices for specific clients. This may include copying any vendor invoices that need to be included and proper delivery of invoices to clients in a timely manner.
• Maintain vendor database management, which includes setting up new vendors in Advantage and any maintenance of existing vendors. Work closely with the banking vendor to ensure that any vendors that can take credit card payments are properly enrolled and subsequently updated in Advantage.
• Maintain new client setup and maintenance. This includes the setting up of new clients and proper maintenance of existing clients in Advantage, as well as establishing proper job jackets and rate structure setup.
• Work with media staff on any outstanding accounts receivable (AR) issues for invoices created. This includes notifying media staff once AR is past 30 days, VP of Client Development once AR is past 60 days, and CEO once AR is past 90 days.
• Research vendor invoice discrepancies and contact vendor to resolve discrepancies in an accurate and timely manner.
• Serve as back-up for the Controller in writing checks, making credit card payments for both US & Canada, managing employee credit cards, and cash management. Assist Controller with special projects.
• Maintain current and accurate time records related to all functions of agency and client work assignments in Advantage software system.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional work experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or AP experience required.

Education

• High School diploma and Higher education, with an emphasis in bookkeeping and/or entry level accounting or business administration, may be substituted for professional work experience.
